The Minister's Cat
"The Minister's Cat" is a Victorian parlour game.
The game is played in groups in which the players take turns describing the minister's cat using adjectives beginning with each letter of the alphabet.
In groups of five:
Sit in a circle or around a table. The first player describes the cat by using an adjective beginning with the first letter of the alphabet ("A" do'h). Like this:
Player 1: "The minister's cat is an adorable cat."
The remaining players continue (still using adjectives beginning with "a") until player 1 gets his/her turn back. Then player 1 switches to "b" adjectives. Like this:
Player 1: "The minister's cat is a beautiful cat."
A player is "out" if he/she cannot think of an adjective with the correct initial letter - or if he/she repeats one that has been used already.
